Fundraising.

We receive approximately one third of our core funding from the NHS but we need to find the other two-thirds, around £70,000, from fundraising and donations every year. Every penny counts and we rely on the support and goodwill of local people, companies, organisations and trusts to help us achieve this. If you can help in any way we would love to hear from you.

So many people are already helping. Nick Chadwick (pictured below), 36 from Pentre Halkyn, has handed over a cheque for £2,672 to The North Wales Chrysalis Trust by taking part in the London Marathon earlier in the year. Nick who is an engineer at Dailycer in Deeside and a member of the Deestriders Running Club has a daughter Eve, now 18 months who was born at Glan Clwyd Hospital with undiagnosed Down’s Syndrome. He said: “Eve is wonderful and now we can’t imagine things being any different but when she was born we were in a daze and wondered how we would cope. You sometimes feel like you are only talking to doctors and nurses so to have a service like Chrysalis is fantastic as you know there is always someone there for you to lean on through such a stressful time and help find some of the answers you are looking for.”

Chrysalis is extremely grateful to Natalie Finley (pictured above right) who has raised £800 by doing a sky dive.

You can help too. Here are some ideas:

Set up a Chrysalis Support Group
Have a Butterfly Tea Party with your friends
Sort out your unwanted bits and bobs and have a car boot sale
Do a sponsored walk or a Chrysalis Crawl
Save your loose change in a jar
Make donations to charity instead of sending Christmas Cards to your colleagues
Wear your own clothes to school or work

The list is endless and if you can help us in any way and need us to help you please just give us a call.

THANK YOU
